MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMER
Hiya! I'm
Oliver Ridley,
a Musical Theatre performer currently based in
Surrey, England.
I'm passionate about storytelling through singing
and acting, and I'm incredibly excited to begin
studying Musical Theatre at the
American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA)
in New York City.
Throughout my training I've developed experience
across many areas of production, including principal
roles, ensemble work, swing preparation and serving
as a vocal captain. Every opportunity has strengthened
my versatility, professionalism and love for live
performance.
I enjoy travelling to experience theatre around the
world, constantly learning from different productions
and performers while continuing to develop my own craft.

MY JOURNEY
Every stage of my education and training throughout my life. Every single place has inspired me and nurtured my love for the arts. These incredible schools have all played significant parts in developing my creative life. Without these amazing institutions, I wouldn't have had the amazing performance opportunities and experiences that shaped me. From singing at Chertsey Church with Stepgates Community School, to performing at His Majesty's Theatre in London's West End with PQA Windsor, each opportunity has paved the way for me as an aspiring performer. Please see below my educational journey, and join me in revisiting the places that changed my life.
Stepgates Community School was the first place where I experienced the arts. This amazing school was not only my first step in my education, but it was also the place where I was first introduced to the arts. Every year, Stepgates would go to the local church in Chertsey to perform a selection of songs for festivities and charitable causes. My most fond memories of Stepgates developed from being involved in the numerous theatrical events each year. Stepgates is truly a community builder, and I am so grateful for the opportunities I had there. I will always pinpoint my love for the arts to my time at Stepgates Community School. To all the fantastic, caring and inspiring teachers at Stepgates, thank you, for everything.
Chertsey High School was the next step in my academic journey. At Chertsey High, I studied Drama with the most amazing teachers, Mrs Cella and Mr Cooper from 2018-2021. They were the sole two teachers who had faith in me and my abilities, and they encouraged me to pursue my passion for the arts. I will always be grateful for their support and guidance, as it helped me to develop my skills and confidence as a performer. Much like Stepgates, Chertsey High School also provided me with numerous opportunities to perform in school choir events and multiple drama class presentations. I would also like to thank the beautiful Mrs Parker who believed in me every step of the way. You deserve the world!
The Pauline Quirke Academy was a massive part of my life for over 6 years. PQA was where i learnt the fundamentals of performing arts. Being taught by industry professionals, I was able to develop my skills and gain valuable experience in Musical Theatre, Film and Television and Comedy and Drama. The countless unforgettable experiences I had at PQA have shaped me into the performer I am today. PQA provided me with opportunities in all areas of performance, from being featured in films screened at VUE Cinemas, performing in West End theatres, to being a part of the PQA Agency, QuirkyKidz. To Every Teacher/Principal/QuirkyKidz Agent: Sarah, Rophin, Phoebe, Jodie, Alasdair, Megan, Humza, Chelsea, Camilla, Sam, Charlotte, Jess, Elanor, Athena, Bea, Bailey, Aidan, Kayleigh, Juan, Keran, Lynsey, Ella, Bethany and of course, the incomparable Pauline Quirke, thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for pushing me. Thank you for being my heroes. Everything I've learned is due to you all. Everything I will do will be because of you all. You paved my way. All i have to do is walk it. Thank you for everything.
During my time at PRAXIS Performing Arts, I learnt how to learn independently. The fanastic facilities at Uxbridge College allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge in all areas in my own time. My time at PRAXIS was a time of growth and development, and I am grateful for my family and friends for showing up for me at that time. I taught myself to sing at PRAXIS, which was a massive step in my journey as a performer. I didn't have the confidence to sing in front of people, but I knew that if I wanted to be a performer, I had to learn how to sing. I wasn't at PRAXIS for long, but I learnt a lot about myself and my abilities. Thank you to Sarah Riches, my PQA teacher, who supported me throughout my time at PRAXIS. You were my biggest cheerleader. Maybe one day I will be recognised as one of your Alumni, but for now, I will celebrate my own astronomical achievements and professional working experiences.
The final chapter of my educational journey is the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. I was recently accepted into the Integrated Conservatory Program at AMDA, where I will be studying Musical Theatre. I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to study at such a prestigious college in the greatest city in the world! However...I need your help. I have been awarded $60,000 in Scholarships from the institution, which is half of the entire 2 year cost. Unfortunately, I still need to find $60,000 in order to attend my dream school. If you would like to support my journey, all relevant details and donation links can be found on the "Support Me" page linked at the top and bottom of each section of my website. You can help me raise the funds simply by sharing the GoFundMe Link, through Word of Mouth or through a donation through the support links. Thank you so much for your time and your generosity!
